Pre-School Educational Process of Turkey

Children make a rapid development physically, cognitively and affectively in preschool educational period (age 0 - 6). The cognitive dimension of a child at pre-school age is creative, independent and imaginary. The imagination unceasingly works. This period is regarded as the time that the children have high potential of learning and developing. Thus, the quality of preschool education affects the higher educational success and even the lifelong success of the child. Therefore the aims of the research are to emphasize the importance of preschool education on the development of the child, to make a comparison between the preschool education of Turkey and other developed countries and to support preschool education by explaining why and how the preschool education in Turkey should be improved.  Article by  Süleyman Göksoy, Department of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Education, Duzce University, Duzce, Turkey. Densification of Thin Aluminum Oxide Films by Thermal Treatments

Thin AlOx films were grown on 4H-SiC by plasma-assisted atomic layer deposition (ALD) and plasma assisted electron-beam evaporation at 300°C. After deposition, the films were annealed in nitrogen at temperatures between 500°C and 1050°C. The films were analyzed by X-ray reflectivity (XRR) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) in order to determine film thickness, surface roughness and density of the AlOx layer. As a result, Annealing at temperatures > 800˚C results in crystallization, a mass loss of ~5% was determined and attributed to the presence of aluminum oxyhydroxide in as deposited films. All changes in film properties after high temperature annealing appear to be independent of the deposition technique. Serial Killer: The Mechanism from Imagination to the Murder Phases

Over the years, scholars have studied the phenomenon of serial murder and tried to explain the causes that originate it. Despite the studies about the types of serial killers, the dynamics, the contexts, and the complex psychological mechanisms which lead a serial killer to murder, organic factors or social nature were identified, but none of these answered the question why some individuals become serial killers, in spite of the types have been studied, the dynamics, the contexts, the complex psychological mechanisms give rise to the death of activities by these individuals. This is the focal point and the problem we want to solve. This paper will try to outline two basic phases which represent the alpha and omega of the world of serial killers from fantasy to enacting the murder. Relationship between Children’s Body Mass Index and Parents’ Obesity and Socioeconomic Status

Obesity in children is a health crisis, and causes both immediate and long-term consequences physically, emotionally and socially. As a result, obesity can lead to problems such as depression, cardiovascular diseases, discrimination, and so on. Study suggests that nationality and weight status of parents are the main determinants of children’s weight status. Therefore, promoting healthy diets and educating parents on the consequences of overweight on children’s health are effective strategies to control overweight and obesity in childhood. Determining Appropriate Damages for Patent Infringement: An Alternative Approach

Intellectual works such as patents are the incorporeal product of intellectual efforts. The more that a property is designed, constructed or suited for a special purpose, the more difference there will be in value. However, the determination of appropriate damages when an infringement has occurred is highly problematic.     This article intended to stimulate debate in relation to potential approaches that could be adopted in determining compensatory and additional damages. It has posited a number of potentially viable metrics that may serve as guidance in determining compensatory damages, and additional damages in particular. Predicting Job Satisfaction: Contributions of Individual Gratitude and Institutionalized Gratitude

This study examined the role that employee perceptions of dispositional gratitude, state gratitude and institutionalized gratitude had upon job satisfaction. As a result, all three types of gratitude were positively correlated with job satisfaction. However, dispositional gratitude was not a significant predictor of job satisfaction when state gratitude and institutionalized gratitude were entered into the regression.     The significant relationship between state gratitude and job satisfaction suggests that organizational leaders can aim to boost job satisfaction by regularly prompting grateful emotions.  Besides, it is also found that employees gain benefit, in the form of greater job satisfaction, through belonging to a workplace culture that endorses gratitude. How People’s Socialization Impact Political Participation

The world has witnessed growing political participation among young people in recent years. With evolving individual values and family roles, young people now play an important role in the present socio-political milieu.       This study, based on Singapore, focuses on whether political socialization by family and peers can affect the online and offline political participation of youth. As a result, online and newspaper news exposure was found to significantly correlate with youth's online political participation, but not with their offline political participation. Besides, there's also positive correlation between mother's education and respondent's offline political participation.
