ABSTRACT This paper explores the Hausa verbal art forms in Shaihu Umar, a novel first published in the Hausa language and then translated into English. The paper mostly focuses on the author’s use of the structures of a Hausa initiation tale as a vehicle for the narrative in the novel. In other words, the paper attempts to investigate how the author uses the structures of Hausa tales for stylistic effects. As a result, the paper tries to identify and analyze what the novel owes to the indigenous Hausa literary tradition as an illustration of the interface between orality and literacy.   KEYWORDS Verbal Art , Tale , Novel , Interface Cite this paper Oumarou, C. The Influence of Gravity on Single Crystallization in Large Volume Drops

Read full paper at: http://www.scirp.org/journal/PaperInformation.aspx?PaperID=50392#.VDzBRVfHRK0 Author(s)    Ion Sandu , Iuliana Iordache , Claudiu Teodor Fleaca , Florian Dumitrache , Ana Maria Niculescu Affiliation(s) National Institute for Lasers, Plasma and Radiation Physics, Laser Department, Laser Photochemistry Laboratory, Bucharest, Romania . ABSTRACT The chemical, physical, and biological properties of more than two millions of proteins which follow to be synthesized by Pharmaceutical Industry, can be anticipated (by using their XRD diffrac-tograms) if they will be grown from aqueous drops as high quality, large volume single-crystals. This is not a simple task and usually the growing process is seen as art rather tha...
