ABSTRACT Wireless mesh network (WMN) research is an emerging field in network communications. However, WMNs pose several difficulties in the transmission of information, especially time critical applications such as streaming video and audio. In this paper, we provide an overview of several research papers which utilize mesh networks for streaming multimedia. We compare the results of the research and the significance they bring to the field of wireless mesh networks. We then provide possible directions for future research into wireless mesh networks as they apply to streaming multimedia.   KEYWORDS Wireless Mesh Networks , Multimedia , Video Quality Cite this pa...

A Design Model for Educational Multimedia Software

Read full paper at: http://www.scirp.org/journal/PaperInformation.aspx?PaperID=52668#.VKC2hcCAM4 Author(s)    André Koscianski , Denise do Carmo Farago Zanotto Affiliation(s) UTFPR, Ponta Grossa, Brazil . ABSTRACT The design and implementation of educational software call into play two well established domains: software engineering and education. Both fields attain concrete results and are capable of making predictions in the respective spheres of action. However, at the intersection, the reports about the development of computer games and other educational software reiterate similar difficulties and an embarrassing degree of empiricism. This study aims to bring a contribution, presenting a model ...
