Nonlocal Models of Cosmic Ray Transport in the Galaxy

Read  full  paper  at: http://www.scirp.org/journal/PaperInformation.aspx?PaperID=53678#.VM8xcSzQrzE Author(s)   Vladimir V. Uchaikin Affiliation(s) Department of Theoretical Physics, Ulyanovsk State University, Ulyanovsk, Russia . ABSTRACT Studying the cosmic ray transport in the Galaxy, we deal with two interacting substances: charged particles and interstellar magnetic field. Two coupled local equations describe this complicated system, but elimination of one of them (say, the magnetic field equation) transforms remaining one (the cosmic rays equation) into the nonlocal form. The most popular nonlocal operators in the cosmic ray physics are integro-differential operators of fractional order. This report contains review of recent works in this direction, including original results of the author. In the last section, some specific problems are discussed: fractional operators with soft truncation of their kernels, nonlocal properties of fractiona...

Determination of Sibutramine and Its N-Desmethyl Metabolites in Human Plasma Using HPLC Coupled with Tandem Mass Spectroscopy

Read full paper at: http://www.scirp.org/journal/PaperInformation.aspx?PaperID=47149#.VGBLuWfHRK0 Author(s) Mohammad Al-Bayari Affiliation(s) Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, University of Tabuk, Tabuk, KSA . ABSTRACT A sensitive and selective liquid chromatographic method coupled with tandem mass spectrometry has been developed and validated for the determination of Sibutramine and its N -desmethyl metabolites in human plasma. The analytes Sibutramine, N-monodesmethylsibutramine, N-N-didesmethylsibutramine and Bisoprolol (internal standard) have been separated on a reversed phase column (Merck, Purospher RP-C18, 30 × 4.0 (mm), 3 μm) using a mobile phase which consists of an aqueous solution 20 mM...

ABSTRACT The generation of different waves in the atmosphere and ionosphere caused by seismic and volcano activities has changed the transparency for cosmic radio waves. It is possible to analyze two cases: the first case caused by the atmosp...
